Securing Hotel Upgrades
I've often had the pleasure of being upgraded to some really nice quarters when I contact the General Manager in advance, and tell him I want to speak to him about group sales. When I show up, I explain that many people know I travel a lot, and ask me to weigh in with opinions on meeting rooms, etc. We take a short tour and, often he takes care of me for my trouble via a nice upgrade.
If you are a true road warrior, you deserve no less. The GM's want to accommodate you, but sometimes need to be reminded that you are coming to town. A win/win all around.
