"Don't Stand So Close to Me..." (This week's Mr. Shmooze QuickTipTM.)

When meeting someone for the first time, be sure to honor their sense of personal space when being introduced.  I have seen some salespeople move too close, which is contra to peoples natural defensiveness when they first meet another human being.

Here's a QuickTipTM from Mr. Shmooze:  A great way to begin to bond subliminally is to stand next to someone and admire something in common.  Could be the view, a piece of art, whatever, but moving from a "face to face" position to "side by side" changes the body language from confrontational to cooperative.
