Timing is Everything! (This week's Mr. Shmooze QuickTipTM.)

Most clients and prospects are deathly afraid that a salesperson is going to eat up time and overstay his welcome.  Here's how I offset that problem and get my prospects to relax.

When we sit down for the "discussion" (always two-way), I take my watch off and put it on the table in front of me.  This alerts the buyer that I appreciate the value of time, and that this is one meeting that is going to be efficient and to the point!
