ROAD WARRIORS: Travels with Mr. Shmooze: This week... Atlanta!
Article Date: July 10, 2006
Buckhead in Atlanta was the destination this week. The Ritz
Carlton is the classic (hotel) choice and features a great bar and a
breakfast buffet/room that is perfect for business meetings.
Still,
the Ritz is pricey, and a great alternative at a lower price is the
Intercontinental, right up the street. Drop-dead gorgeous, nice
rooms. Not quite the same intimacy at the bar, which merges with
the lobby.
Buckhead is famous for its dinner/entertainment
alternatives. All the national steakhouses are there, plus great
local features like "Bones." Smoking laws have limited cigars,
but there is a little known back room at "Dan Tammas" with a major
league humidor and some plasma screens to watch the games. It's
private, but mention Mr. Shmooze and you are in!
