The City of Brotherly Love...  and Rocky Balboa!  (Yo, Rocky!)  I was there last week and have a great tip:  Do yourself a favor and stay at The Rittenhouse Hotel.

Not only does this hotel have an attentive staff and comfortable rooms, it has two excellent restaurants that I enjoyed very much.  The first is a Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse.  Dan Morris is the manager there.  He has a positive attitude and a great personality.  Although I heard many folks approach the host stand and say that they didn't have reservations, Dan did not turn them away.  Instead, he asked them to wait a moment and then went to see what he could do to accommodate them.  Dan's bartenders also did an outstanding job.  They kept on providing top-notch service even when 25 ladies showed up for a Botox "meeting."  Needless to say, it was an interesting evening.

The other spot I discovered was Lacroix at The Rittenhouse, located on the second floor of the hotel.  The food and service there were fantastic, and the restaurant offered scenic views over famous Rittenhouse Square.  I felt very relaxed and important just being there.
